On a glorious summer day, nearly 1,000 people attended a garden party to commemorate the end of WW1 and Prime Minister Lloyd George agreeing to the terms of the Armistice whilst resident at Danny. The bronze sculpture by Philip Jackson was unveiled by Colin Prickett, who was celebrating being a resident at Danny for 21 years. Many guests attended in period costume. There were two orchestral bands enticing people to dance in the large traditional marquee, a brass band, marching cadets, WW1 re-enactors, a fair ground, bars, and tea tents.
