Nestling in the Beauty of Sussex

Go through the gate near the foot of the drive, and you will find a path that leads you eventually up onto the Downs. Our immediate neighbour is Wolstonbury Hill, whose summit you may reach within about forty minutes walk from the house. There are plenty of other walks that will take you, for instance, to Ditchling Beacon in the East, or, if you are really energetic, to Chanctonbury in the West. By the field paths, Hurstpierpoint village is about twenty five minutes away.

Hassocks is one and a half miles to the north east, and it is from there that you may take the train into Brighton (10 minutes), up to London (50 minutes) or to Gatwick (20 minutes).

The two villages between them have a couple of supermarkets and a wide variety of shops. There are doctors and dentists in both, although most residents use the doctors at the new Hurstpierpoint Health Centre.

During the day, you can take the bus from the top of the drive or take a train. Glyndebourne may be reached in half an hour. There are many attractive places to visit in West Sussex.

HOW TO FIND DANNY HOUSE

Danny lies off the road connecting Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks, the B2116.

Coming from London on M23/A23, take the exit marked to Hurstpierpoint and Hickstead Show Ground. Go through Sayers Common to the traffic-lights at Albourne, where you turn left onto the B2116. Follow this road right through the village, and turn right into NEW WAY LANE, where the B2116 bears left. A couple of hundred yards down on the right is the drive to the house, clearly marked by a finger-post.

From Brighton, take A23>A273 to the traffic-lights at Stone Pound crossroads, and there turn left onto B2116 (Hurstpierpoint). New Way Lane is rather more than half-a-mile further on your left, where the main road bears right.
